RowBuds (“we”, “our”, or “us”) helps students find small groups to watch movies together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
When you use RowBuds, we may collect:
- Your name, profile photo and sign-in email from your authentication provider.
- Your campus email and campus name.
- Your one-line bio and movie interests (such as Anime, Comedy, Action, Thriller or Horror).
- Your movie preferences, including movie, preferred day, time, language and theatre.
- Your gender, which is used only for safer crew matching.
- Basic usage, device and diagnostic information to help operate and improve RowBuds.
- If additional verification is required, we may request a campus ID solely to verify that you’re a student. It is deleted once the verification process is complete.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Match you with suitable movie crews.
- Verify that users belong to the correct campus.
- Display your profile to members of your crew.
- Operate and improve RowBuds.
- Keep the community safe and prevent misuse.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not send promotional emails.
What other users can see
Members of your crew may see:
- Your name
- Profile photo (if available)
- Your one-line bio
- Your selected movie interests
Your email addresses, gender, age, campus verification details and other personal information are never shown to other users.
Third-party services
We use trusted third-party providers to operate RowBuds, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database and storage.
- Cloudflare for hosting.
- Zoho Mail and ZeptoMail for email delivery.
- PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics.
- Google for authentication.
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services.
We may also disclose information if required by applicable law.
Your choices
You can:
- Update your profile information.
- Leave a movie crew before booking.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing hello@rowbuds.com.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate RowBuds or comply with legal obligations.
Age requirement
RowBuds is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
